Counselling Mission Statement
The Counselling team provide one to one and group counselling to substance misusers and family members effected by substance misuse.
CASP counsellors support people with issues of recovery including preventing relapse, personal development, stress and anger management, family relationships and more.
What Is Counselling?
Counselling is a way of relating and responding to another person, encouraging that person to honestly assess positive and negative aspects of their thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Counselling provides support and feedback as people journey through recovery, encouraging them toward a clearer self-understanding. As this understanding develops, so does the ability to cope and manage life more effectively. In this purposeful relationship, one person helps another learns the skills to help themselves.
Types Of Counselling Include
- One-To-One Counselling
- Family Counselling
- Group Counselling
- Transitional Supports
- Partner/Marital Counselling
- Relapse Prevention

Counsellors are also responsible for assessing those wishing to come onto the CASP Programme, those seeking referrals for residential treatment, and anyone needing support of any kind. If, for any reason, CASP is not the best programme to provide these supports, we are fully committed to securing alternative treatment options.
