CASP COUNSELLING TEAM “COMMITMENT TO CARING FOR THOSE IN NEED…” OUR MISSION STATEMENT The CASP Counselling Team is committed to providing a supportive, safe, caring environment that promotes an awareness and understanding of the range of options and services available to individuals within this community who are living with addiction. CASP’s goal of supporting individuals in reaching their fullest potential mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually in a professional and confidential forum is evidenced by the Counselling Team’s commitment to engage in ongoing training and development, embracing any and all opportunities for growth. WHAT IS COUNSELLING? Counselling is a way of relating and responding to another person, encouraging that person to honestly assess positive and negative aspects of his/her thoughts, feelings, and actions. Counselling provides support and feedback as people journey through recovery, encouraging them toward a clearer self-understanding. As this understanding develops, so does the ability to cope and manage life more effectively. In this purposeful relationship, one person helps another learn to help him/herself. TYPES OF COUNSELLING INCLUDE: One-To-One Counselling Family Counselling Group Counselling Transitional Supports Partner/Marital Counselling Relapse Prevention Stress & Anger Management Personal Development Counsellors are also responsible for assessing those wishing to come onto the CASP Programme, those seeking referrals for residential treatment, and anyone in the local community needing support of any kind. If, for any reason, CASP is not the best programme to provide these supports, we are fully committed to securing alternatives for anyone in need. |
